A-Z Claim Question
I had an A-Z claim on an item that the customer said he did not receive in his mail box even though it said delivered which is not unusual but I had shipped it through Amazon Shipping Services so I am supposed to be covered from A-Z claims because it was shipped through Amazon with tracking that shows delivered by the carrier. Amazon still charged me for the claim. I filed an appeal and they denied the appeal because they said I did not ship the item on time. The item was purchased on the 22nd a 10:30 PM with 1 business day fulfillment time. The next day was Thanksgiving, a national holiday with no mail service. We shipped the item at 10am on Friday which would have been the next business day! So we shipped on time and delivered on time and used Amazon shipping services yet Amazon still put the A-Z against us? Is there anyone to contact at all? They won't even allow a response or anything since the appeal was denied even through is was for an invalid reason? Maybe the person who reviewed it is in another country and unaware that the 23rd was a Holiday? How can i get help now??? This is basically just Amazon stealing money IMO? Totally against their own posted policies?

The question is was it scanned by the carrier on Friday as received for them to ship?

Hello @Seller_uCCM5S4J3jvIG
Thank you for visiting the seller forums and posting your A-to-z claim question. I am going to research the claim and if I can assist with an additional appeal, I will let you know by posting back here.
Thanks, Susan

I believe TVOI50 is correct here. Usually a first scan, and what Amazon is looking for, will state something like "Accepted". Hopefully Susan can get this resolved in your favor.

Also, in your shipping settings, do you have Thanksgiving as an operational day or no? I thing that might make a difference. If you had it as operational, it might have counted as a processing day.

You know this policy is so crazy. Our post office does not do scans at all when you drop off. The distribution centers do the scans and those are 1-2 days after the packages are dropped off. Just another loophole for Amazon to take your money.

This is one reason we ship every day. As long as you print the label it is considered shipped. The delivery time is the important date.
We have printed labels and held the item for one reason or another. Not going to say here. We have never had a late shipment.
If what you say is true, the mod should be able to help. Our view is you should have marked as shipped on the 23rd. Phone app works anywhere.
Good luck we hope the mod can help.

They no longer give refunds if you use buy shipping, that ship sailed a long time ago

On weekends and around holidays, I pay particular attention to ship date when creating labels. Amazon defaults to TODAY even if it is a holiday or 10 minutes until midnight. If you actually mean that the item will be in the carrier stream on another day, you better select THAT day, do not keep the default. Amazon will be quick to dismiss any claim you think you have for protection. Yea, it is a pain and I sometimes miss a few for sure.

If, in your original communication (and any appeals if you are given that chance) you do not clearly state order date, ship date, ship by date, promised delivery date, actual delivery date, etc., they often lie and say you didn't ship on time and then close with no option to appeal. The only AtoZs I have ever lost are exactly this and always during the Christmas season when they obviously have more claims. Somehow they need to get back some of the money they are losing so they use this excuse, that you didn't ship on time. Closed. You lose even though it isn't true and you have no chance to redeem yourself. You must be detailed, detailed, detailed.

The 1 business day clock is not validated when you print the shipping label. It's validated when the carrier scans it in. With the volume they do this time of year I make sure it gets to my carrier as early as possible if I'm dropping it off or I watch them scan it for pick up.
