Hi! I am a brand new seller attempting to sell T shirts with my own created designs. I am listing under generic. I go through all of the steps but keep getting this error "This SKU has an inconsistent product classification with the ASIN. Please submit a feed to update this SKU to match the ASIN product classification. "
I am selecting ASIN and then the listing is still requiring me to put an External ID. I have tried everything I can think of but continue to get this same error. Someone please help because this is driving me mad
ETA: I am manually adding products

Unless you are approved for a GTIN exemption, then you are required to use a product ID like a UPC or GTIN issued by GS1. If you are approved for the exemption, then you would leave the product ID fields blank.

Hello @Seller_mBsIfPxIKPwUJ,
Michelle at Amazon here. First off, welcome to Amazon! We are glad you are here. Since you are new, you may find the New Seller Group helpful as well.
As you are selling your items as generic and do not have a UPC, you will need a UPC exemption to sell them as Odrade stated. You can learn more here and then apply for a GTIN exemption at the bottom of the page. You will not want to use the UPC that is on the products you purchase as they belong to that brand.
If you have further questions, you can contact Seller Support at any time and you may find this thread helpful as we have provided information on many listing issues and will continue to create them this month as well.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Regards,
Michelle
