Amazon Japan selling my product in the United States

My company has a licensed distributor that sells our product in Japan. This distributor sells to Amazon via Vendor Central. Amazon Japan has taken it upon themselves to display the Japanese listing with Japanese text in the US marketplace and to offer the product for sale in the United States. This is in direct violation of our distribution agreement. I have asked the distributor to open a case with Vendor Central support in Japan, but so far they have been unable to stop the listing of the product in the US.

The product in question is the same with the same UPC code as we offer in the United States so when I list the product, it uses the information that was entered in Japan, which includes Japanese characters and are honestly terrible listings. I have been unable to change anything on the listing as Amazon Retail entries takes precedence over brand owners.

I’ve included an example below. I’ve opened a number of cased with brand registry and they seem unable or unwilling to help. My goals in order of priority are to…

  1. Fix the listings to remove the Japanese characters and add appropriate descriptions
  2. Stop Amazon from cross selling my products from other geographies

Any help or ideas would be appreciated

We got a reply from Amazon Japan.

" Japan Amazon says please contact to USA Vender support and if any action that Japan Amazon side should take to solve this issue please share exactly what they say we should do. Basically they need USA amazon support to provide direction

This doesn’t make sense to me as Amazon Japan is the entity making the offer and shipping the product.
