The Partnered Carrier lost my shipment.
The FBA shipment (one box containing 27 small items) was sent on 09/05/2023 by UPS which is amazon's partnered carrier. The label was purchased directly from the FBA shipment page. As of today, the package still shows in transit without any further tracking (passed a week since the expected delivery date). I have contacted UPS and they admitted that the item must have been lost in transit and advised me to contact Amazon.
I see that on get help page, after I put in the shipment ID it says no investigation will be started until after 10/07/2023. Do I need to wait until that date or is it possible for me to contact Amazon right now? Do I ask Amazon for a reimbursement for the lost package?
I only send few shipments a year and this is the first time that this has happened to me. I would like to hear from experienced FBA sellers on how to approach this matter.

Thank you.

Hi @Seller_tbC8q2rcQ6Uqn,
Dominic from Amazon here, happy to help! So you are correct, you cannot request an investigation until 10/7. At that time you can reconcile the shipment.
To navigate to the Shipment Reconciliation tool:
- From the drop-down menu in Seller Central, select Inventory, and then select Shipments
- Find your shipments and click Track shipment.
- In the shipment summary, click the Contents tab.
After your shipment has arrived at an Amazon fulfillment center, the Contents tab on the Shipment summary page will display the status of the units as they are received. If there are any differences between what you have sent in the shipment and what is received, use the tools within the Contents tab to:
- Get detailed information about discrepancies between your shipping plan and what the fulfillment center received
- Provide more information about the shipment contents
- Request an investigation into missing or unexpected items
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Best,
Dominic
