Account Verification email through Buyer Messages?
I received and email through "Buyer Messages" stating that Amazon wants me to do a verification on my account. I then received an email through my email that stated possible phishing attempt on your selling account. I contacted SS and was told this was legitimate. I just want to make sure I'm not opening a can of worms and that this is actually legitimate as I found it to be very odd that I would receive an important email from Amazon in my "Buyer Messages" email. Any help from the mods would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked under Settings --> Account Info? If the reverification request is legitimate, there should be a link there to begin the process. Not advisable to do it through an email.

We received a similar buyer message from customer "Verification Service". This is a suspicious message and when we called Amazon SS, they said to report the message and not do anything with it. If this is truly legit, any verification request should show up as a notification on your account - not through a buyer message.

Greetings @Seller_OuVrj7XbgNVLK
Stevie from Amazon here to assist! I hope this finds you well.
I see you were contacted via Buyer messaging with a request to verify your account information. First and foremost, I want to express my apologies for you having to come in contact with this here on Amazon. I am glad you were able to get the correct guidance on this issue.
I want to highlight a few different resources we have for issues such as this, to help yourself, sellers, and customers guard against suspicious activity on the platform.
We have a Help and Customer Service page devoted to identifying whether an email, phone call, text message, or webpage is from Amazon. There are some helpful tips for spotting fake Amazon communication. There are also links to the Report Something Suspicious page, which gives you a few different options to initiate the report of situations like yours.
I would also like to express appreciation for @Seller_LImVvUWeyiCfQ who advised of the best way to verify if verification of your business is required.
If you have any other concerns, please feel free to post on this topic. The forums community and I are here to support you.
Best wishes,
Stevie
