New Listing cannot be created due to UPC issue

I am currently having error on my UPC barcode. I purchased a single UPC code without company prefix from GS1 directly in the beginning of June. However, when I’m trying to create a new listing, Amazon system cannot validate the UPC barcode, appears an error “The SKU does not match any ASIN and contains invalid value(s) for attributes required for creation of a new ASIN”.

I have contacted with Amazon support team multiple times, but this is what their response. “We verify the authenticity of product GTINs by checking the GS1 database. UPCs that do not match the information provided by GS1 will be considered invalid.”

I’m the brand owner, and my Amazon seller account has already got approved by Brand Registry team. In addition, I provided GS1 UPC certificate to support team. I do not understand why the information is unmatched. Please help!

I had the same Issue. I really didn't want to buy the UPC/GTIN with the prefix, so I got the 30$ version. It worked for the first four products I listed 3 months ago, but now I've bought two more UPC/GTIN from the GS1us website, and neither of them work? I've talked with 6 phone people from amazon and they couldn't tell me why this error is happening? Did you by chance by the prefix version? I'm just wondering for personal curiosity.

I wanted to follow up with you to see if you were able to receive some help regarding the UPC issue you were experiencing? I see that you reached out to Selling Partner Support on CASE ID ending in 8231 back on June 23rd, 2024 and they provided you with information on product identifiers and how they work back on June 26th, 2024.
