Setting up Brand Registry timeline and other issues (error 5665)
I am getting frustrating responses my first time trying to register for Brand Registry. I haver sourced a product and wish to place an order soon, but feel I need to have Brand Registry organised. I have a pending trademark application through the IP accelerator program and have samples of the stock from the supplier. In order to register for Brand Registry and to create my listing, I have encountered this error message via Amazon support in email: "With regard to 5665 error, I would like to inform you that the brand name for which you are applying must be permanently affixed on the product and/or product packaging. As the brand name was not permanently affixed on the product/packaging the application was declined." How can I get the brand name permanently fixed on the product/packaging, when I haven't placed an order with my supplier yet? I this something I need ask the supplier to do? The supplier is offshore, and I really want to go down the private label path, but not getting any meaningful help.
Some other issues or confusion I have:
Do I need to have Brand Registry approved before placing an initial order if I want to do private label?
How can I get exact figures for quotation purposes for Amazon Global Logistic to compare to freight forwarders and my suppliers shipping costs without being able to set up a product listing (I can't set up a product listing without being approved for brand registry)?
Is there a phone number or person I can actually speak with rather than being limited to this forum or unhelpful emails from support?
Thanks for considering my issues.

Did you get a sample made? What did you send in to the USPTO for proof of Brand?

Hi,
Are your current listings Generic or under your brand name? If your current listings are under your brand name you could have the new product made with your logo on them.
Ask the supplier to send you a photo of the product with your logo on it before they do mass production. Then send that to Amazon brand registry to show them that your logo is permanently affixed to the product.
Meanwhile you can still have this new product made with your logo and sell it (but not if you are Generic).
Then you can just transition to brand registry with that product all in place.
Hope that helps
