amazon changing shipment status from working to receiving - we have not sent the shipment yet!
Greetings - this is the 4th time in a couple of months that this has happened. We send large shipments to amazon - they need to stay in working status otherwise our software program (scanlister) will not upload them so we can work on them. Amazon is incorrectly marking the shipment as receiving even though we have not sent it yet. The answers we get from customer support when we open cases are all over - we have to call over and over until we get the one support person who says "no problem I can fix that for you" and within 1 minute it is changed to working. So yes it can be fixed. This is causing us huge delays on shipments and having to rearrange our staff. Does anyone have any solutions that have worked for them? Can a mod please jump in to review this and perhaps give customer support team members a tool so they can change these back? Amazon made the error - they should be able to fix easily. Mod see case ID 14663447651. Thank you everyone for the assistance.

Good afternoon @Seller_6NYy0sAeVHZ80,
Thanks for taking the time to raise this, I took a look at the case number you provided and the Shipment ID. It appears the issue has been resolved, please confirm or let me know if that's not the case. Thank you!

Good morning,
I did some digging around on this, and I was able to find a few threads related. From this one, another seller reported "The reason why this happens, is that some unexpected units were received at the Fulfillment Center, and they were received under this PO. Also, we are unable to determine the shipment where the unexpected units came from, this happens because some units were delayed, and the PO were they were supposed to be received was already closed.
Once a PO is closed by the Fulfillment Center, even if we try to re-open it from here, it won’t work."
There was also this thread, where sellers reported needing to replicate the exact steps as you described.
Lastly, searching in Seller Central, this was the only use case I could find for shipments automatically converting from Working to Receiving:
"Did you send more items than the quantity listed in your shipping plan?
The quantity listed is marked as Received, the shipment is marked as Closed, and the overage is counted against an open shipment that is in either Receiving or Working status. If you don't have a shipment with the status Receiving, the shipment that is in Working status is automatically changed to Receiving. In such a case, you will need to duplicate the shipment in order to save the information that you have already entered to continue working on it."
I don't believe that scenario applies to you, but I wanted to include as much information as I could find.
One thread I found implied that the issue may be more common during peak season, but if you continue to experience trouble please don't hesitate to reach out to me here.
