Dell brand approval
I have been selling books for at least 20 years on Amazon, the majority of them being Dell older paperbacks from 1950-1990. All of a sudden I am not allowed to sell Dell books without authorizarion from Dell. In the past when this has happened (it did with Ace also) it was rectified. Is this a temporary glitch? Hundred's of my inventory are Dell. Are they now going to b ineligible for listig and for sale?
Please, someone advise what is going on with this and how to fix it. All my books are used, older and I have no affiliations with a supplier ot manufacturer,.

This has happened to many long-time booksellers on Amazon.
For my purposes, losing access to Amazon purchasers via certain publishers' blocks affects a scant part of my book inventory. McMillan and a few other publishers who have blocked my selling their books can go to xxxx.
If you have any memory of the publishers' enormous fight against Amazon's selling used books many years ago, you will appreciate that their current blocking of sellers is more of the same.
If answering the questionnaire does not offer you permission to sell a particular publisher's books, wait a few days and try again.
After answering the questionnaire, a few publishers (or was it Amazon + the colluding publishers ?) offered a chance at legitimacy: Show us an invoice from the publisher indicating your wholesale purchase of X number of books.
Likely my tiny wholesale purchase, if they deigned to sell to me at all, would be somewhat above Amazon's retail price.
If it is worthwhile for you to open a wholesale account with DELL so that you can continue to sell your DELL collectible books, consider this approach. It does not guarantee you will be able to sell your current inventory and remember that there are other bookselling venues.

Possibly ... seeing as it's "Dell" ... both a brand and a publisher.
Have you asked Amazon about it?

I have not been able to sell Dell books for about a year. I suspect it's due to standard badly written bots that confuse Dell Publishing with Dell Computers. When I applied to sell last year, the form appeared to be a non-book application. Since I only had a few with much value, I just donated most of them to the library. It wasn't worth the time required to talk to clueless and cut-and-paste "support".

Hello @Seller_uHs59x9InEIwM- thanks for starting this discussion here on the forums, and thanks to the other sellers here offering some insight!
After reading your post, I do not believe that confusion with the computer company is the core issue here. Rather, this sounds like the product IDs associated with these items may be associated with the Dell book brand, and approval from that brand may be required to sell on Amazon. Though if your products do not have an ISBN, EAN or JAN, you might consider applying for a GTIN exemption.
Here is some additional information on GTIN requirements for books, which includes details on applying for an exemption, and here is our page covering the approvals process.
I hope this helps, but let me know if I can help address any additional questions on this topic.
Best,
Danny
