'Honda' and 'Honda Genuine' are considered different brands
First of all let me state that I am a Honda dealership with all the privileges given to me by American Honda to sell any and all Honda parts and accessories. I have been selling on Amazon under the seller name of Cawood Honda for well over a decade now.
Recently, Honda went through a product change and updated and revised their power steering fluid. It has been repackaged and rebranded so it includes both Honda and Acura on its label. The two separate packages are now joined into one package.
I sell a lot of the OEM power steering fluid on this platform. I am now trying to add a new item to my selling profile that would have the new packaging and product instead of the old product. My attempt to add a new item was halted because Amazon is requesting I get approved to sell the brand Honda (which I was already approved to do many years ago). After 3 days and multiple attempts failed I finally requested a phone call from Amazon to explain to me why it was failing. My request was sent to the "internal team" and when I finally got a response it was that I was not authorized to sell the Honda brand. After 2 days of back and forth in the help section (always telling me I need to get authorized to sell the Honda brand) it was finally revealed that the item I am trying to sell is labeled 'Honda Genuine' and I am not authorized to sell 'Honda Genuine'.
Not sure what I can do at this point.

You would need authorization to sell "Honda Genuine" as the brand name.
A trademark brand name is a word mark, which is case sensitive and any additional words would make it its own brand.
That is probably the reason everyone has been keeping it under the "Honda" brand until Honda has finished registration of the new brand name (it takes awhile to process and post legally) and is able to supply everyone with additional LoA's for "Honda Genuine"

Hi @cawood_auto_,
Thanks for the post.
Please note that if Amazon believes that a trademark is associated with a product that you are selling that is not approved by the brand for use in connection with that product, you may be asked to provide a Letter of Authorization from the relevant brand owner to show that you have permission to use their registered trademark.
Best regards,
