Sony Classical used music CDs: it appears all are gated on Amazon.com and require authorization to sell
Hello,
I would be curious to hear from American used music vendors about my issue with SonyClassical on Amazon.com.
I am a very small seller selling as "Boules Market" on Amazon.com for about 2 years now. I am dealing exclusively with used music CDs. Those were acquired over the past 30 years from particulars, used record stores, garage sales, etc. No invoices here and not much money to make, just the love to exchange with other music lovers, and avoid some gems being thrown into garbage.
Among those used music CDs are a lot of albums linked with Sony Classical. Until recently (I do not know exactly when, maybe 2 monts), I had no problems listing SonyClassical used CDs in my inventory. But now every attempt to list a new such item is greeted with a "You need approval to list in this brand", an a request to provide an invoice showing the purchase of a minimum of 10 similar items dating back to no more than 180 days.
Worst, if I try to edit an item linked with SonyClassical which is already active and sellable in my inventory, I am presented with the same "You need approval to list in this brand" message. Figure this out: I need approval to list an item which is already active and sellable in my inventory. And I cannot modify its price or its shipping profile. Contradictory or not ?
I am totally unable to understand how a seller of used CD music can meet the requirements put forth by Amazon.com for SonyClassical. A seller offering used music CDs do not by those by dozens from a Sony representative and do not have invoices to show. Sony sells new music CDs, not used ones!
It appears that Amazon.com is incorrectly lumping together all products with the word SONY somewhere in their metadata and considers that selling a SonyClassical used music CD is similar to selling a Sony TV set of home cinema gear. This is plain wrong.
I understand very well why you need an authorization to sell expensive Sony products like TV sets. But taking as an example ASIN B0000027VU, what should one concludes about enforcing those requirements for a 2CD album released 30 years ago in 1992 and selling for 2.99$, and currently offered on Amazon.com by no less than 21 different vendors ? Do you really think that SONY cares about this album ?
I find this situation pretty discouraging.
Hope someone within the used CD seller community on Amazon can help me.
Best,
André Gosselin

Hi @Seller_txogx0qV7LCN1, certain categories and products like the Music category have implemented higher selling qualifications for products that may have a higher risk of authenticity issues. Although there's no way for me to remove this requirement for you, I can at least link you this help page that explains them for the Music category.
