No consistency in earliest and latest ship by dates
I have seen multiple discussions about the issues with earliest and latest ship dates, and they have no replies from Amazon or anyone else. I am as frustrated as anyone else. Is Amazon just ignoring this issue that so many of us have? This is just as much about customer experience as it is ours. Doesn't Amazon claim to be about giving the customers the best possible experience?
I recently created an Excel sheet showing the inconsistency of ship by dates on my orders and sent it to Seller Support. I have inserted below a snippet of that sheet. They replied that there was nothing wrong with these ship by dates. I don't see how that is possible. These are listed in the order they were received (by time of day). If there is nothing wrong with these ship by dates I clearly don't have the slightest understanding of their system. The ship by dates have nothing to do with where the customer is located.
They also told me to go into my shipping settings and adjust the handling time. The system doesn't allow me to enter anything other than auto or 1 day handling time. I have tried entering 1-2 days in the handling time of the upload file and the inventory update file. The results in the chart I posted here is when I had set the handling time on my inventory update file to 3.
The worst part of this is managing customer expectations. When they don't give me the 2 days to ship that I require, customer expectations are not met - they are disappointed - and I end up having late shipments counted against me.
They are constantly telling us about new things they are doing to make things better for the sellers. The very best thing they can do is to, instead, spend time making sure basic tools such as these function properly.
