2 orders, 1 shipment ... how to refund part of the express shipping paid to customer ?
I had one customer place 2 identical orders on the same and pay for express 2 day shipping on both. They were going to the same address so I printed both packing slips and shipped together with the intention of refunding the majority of the extra shipping paid. Just wondering what is the best/safest way to do that ... if they end up returning one of the items I don't want them to be refunded for the shipping since I have already paid for that. I want to be fair and refund the extra money but I also don't want to get hosed if they end up returning. Just looking for advice ... much appreciated.

The correct way would have been to ship the two orders separately, utilizing both shipping labels, as for 2 orders you would need two separate tracking numbers.
