Following on from our short FBA intro this post will give a brief outline of FBA fees.

In order to make the most of FBA it’s important to understand two core fees: Fulfillment fees and monthly inventory storage fees.

• Fulfillment fees are per unit fees for picking, packing, and shipping items to customers. These fees vary depending on an item’s size, weight, and category.
• Monthly inventory storage fees vary depending on the average daily volume of space your inventory occupies in fulfilment centres, product size-tiers, and the time of year. Check out the monthly storage fees report to view the estimated monthly inventory storage fees for each ASIN of your inventory in Amazon fulfillment centres.

There are also occasional fees that you need to be aware of:

• Aged Inventory Surcharge fees are assessed based on the total volume in cubic metres of units that have been stored in Amazon fulfillment centres for more than 365 days. You can generate a report on this page: Aged Inventory Surcharge report
• Returns processing fees are charged on orders when Amazon provides a customer with free return shipping.
• Removal order fees are charged when you have Amazon return or dispose of your inventory in a fulfillment center for a per-item fee.
• Unplanned services fees are charged when inventory arrives at a fulfilment center without proper preparation or labelling, making unplanned services required.
