I have 200 units inbound & now ASIN showing Inactive / Restricted

I just sent 200 units FBA under one asin on 11/6/2024. Current status is inbound still because its going across the country. As of yesterday, the asin shows INACTIVE> and to click on fix listing issue. After clicking on fix listing issue, it shows Offer was removed 1 day ago | Request selling approval for policy compliance.

I obviously was already approved to sell or I wouldn't have sent it in. But even worse, it does not let me apply to sell again. Instead it shows RESTRICTED. I called in to Amazon customer service, and the rep told me that either the brand or the vendor chose to restrict it to third party sellers like me. But also they changed the category to industrial. This is a baking mat for cookies, it is not industrial.

Either way, are my items that are inbound not going to become active? If not, is there anything that can be done? If nothing can be done, then am I seriously responsible for the inbound and removal shipping costs when I did nothing wrong? Amazon should cover that cost since this was done to me out of my control. I have never been in this situation. HELLLP

" it does not let me apply to sell again. Instead it shows RESTRICTED. "

If you have been reading the Forum at all, you would have seen that this is happening more and more frequently with more and more brands.

"I obviously was already approved to sell or I wouldn't have sent it in. "

You appear to be confusing AMAZON allowing you to list (or at least "ungate") an item or category and actually being APPROVED to sell a product. Amazon may have ungated you for a CATEGORY but there can be 100's of brands in the category and they ALL have their own restrictions.

AMAZON is only interested in FEES. They will allow a chimpanzee to list if it means they collect $$$$$.

Let's start with basics --

Did you get an LOA from the BRAND allowing you to sell on Amazon BEFORE you purchased the inventory? If you did, my first call would be to my sales rep at the brand and ask WHY they gave you one when they had to know (in advance) that they were going to restrict the sales on Amazon!

Then, IF you bought from an authorized wholesale source, I would ask THEM why they didn't let you know that sales were going to be restricted on Amazon. Of course, if you bought form a gray market site, they would have no incentive to tell you anything.

Because this is becoming quite common (pretty much multiple posts on a daily basis about it) I would strongly suggest that ALL sellers start by making their initial ASIN creations as FBM so inventory is NEVER going to be tied up in this situation.

Once sales have proceeded with no problems for several weeks THEN, and only then, consider sending inventory to Amazon.

Hi there @Seller_rSNEZxhj0e8Z9,

I'm sorry you are having difficulties with a product that you are not currently approved to sell that you sent in a shipment for. It is possible the ASIN became restricted after you sent in the shipment. Can you please provide your most recent Seller Support Case so I can review and see what options I can offer? Thank you for your understanding.
