Copyright Infringement 0 How is this possible?
Here's the situation:
I'm Canadian and sell only in Amazon Canada. Today I received a Copyright Infringement notification for Amazon US. I have never sold or even listed a single product in Amazon US. So how can I receive a copyright infringement notification from a marketplace in which I do no business whatsoever? I've tried Seller Support (opened a case) and even tried getting a call back and all I get is the usual support, that is canned automated responses that have nothing to do with my message.
For those of you wondering about the product that was flagged, I did sell it in Canada. That was a year ago, and yes they were bought from a wholesaler and I had authorization. It didn't perform well so I stopped selling it and deleted the listing (a year ago). But this was only in Canada, not the US.
I know it disappears after 180 days but I don'T think I should have to acknowledge something that makes no sense and for which I hold no responsibility. I would like it removed completely so your insights are welcome.

My guess (only a guess) is that some or all of your listings on the .ca marketplace got copied over to the .com or other marketplaces that are part of the "Unified Americas Account". Even if those marketplaces are on vacation, Amazon will (at least going the other direction; from the .com site) randomly decide that a listing should be copied over to one of the other marketplaces; they don't bother to tell you that they've done this.
Check your .com marketplace, and see if there are any listings (active or inactive) there; and delete them.
Sadly, no idea on how to get the complaint removed.

Hello @Seller_zeFcCxS46gcIy,

I see that you recently received a copyright complaint in the US store and you have questions about how to address this.
If you believe that this complaint has been placed in error, you will have the opportunity to dispute this by submitting a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) counter-notice. Once we receive a valid counter-notice, our copyright agent will forward the information to the party who filed the complaint (“claimant”). If the claimant does not file a lawsuit with respect to the content within 10 days, we will reinstate the content and the violation will be removed.
Have you checked the US store to see if the affected ASIN is in your catalogue? As @Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrw mentioned, this may have happened if the inventory was uploaded to your North American unified stores.
You also have the option to take the acknowledgement. If it is accepted, this will remove the violation from the account health page. If you chose not to take action, the violation will fall off of the dashboard in 180 days.
I hope you find this information helpful. Once you have reviewed the information and questions above, please feel free to respond here. The Forums community and I are here to support you.
Wishing you the best,
LeviDylan
