After 6 months buyer notifies me of non receipt of a book
Hello,
I need guidance. In July 2024, a book was ordered which was shipped within the appropriate time window. Tracking # was provided to Amazon and customer via interface. Never heard from the buyer, UNTIL January 29, 2025. Two days ago buyer states book was never received, wants me to ‘ship it now’ or provide a refund.
I do not have the book. I have the USPS tracking #, but my local post office (where it departed) no longer has tracking information because USPS just doesn’t keep that info after a certain time. My postal worker actually went to try and type it in to their system (which I also tried at home).
So what do I do here? It seems crazy to me that someone waits 6 months and then tries to check on it.
Please provide guidance.

Politely let them know the information from when it was shipped and state the refund period has long passed.
You may get negative feedback, but I don't think they can file an A-Z claim 6 months later.
