USPS is NOT quoting correctly - Mods please read and address this issue
@KJ_Amazon
I have seen and experienced this issue dozens of times this week. Mods say that it is due to the holidays, but I'm not sure you guys understand what the actual issue is that people are having. There is a glitch between the delivery times that USPS is quoting and how Amazon is translating the data when showing shipping options.
If this is due to the holidays approaching, then why has this not happened to us in 12 years of selling $2M+ per year on Amazon? Can you please explain why amazon is determining that order's promised delivery date based on one of the inexpensive options, (USPS Ground Advantage for example), and then not allowing us to ship using that very option? If it is good enough to promise delivery date based upon, why is it not good enough for us to ship by?
PERFECT EXAMPLE
This order came in 90 minutes ago, and has to ship by tomorrow, and deliver within 5 days after that. It weighs 6 oz and should cost us $3.18 to ship if it goes out TOMORROW. You can see that Amazon based the delivery date promise on USPS Ground Advantage.

Here is the Buy Shipping screen. You can see that even if I ship TODAY, the least expensive option that I have is $8.18 for Priority Mail Cubic. USPS Ground Advantage is not even offered. That is a $5 difference, and will deliver in 5 days. Mind you, this is going to an address 4 hours away from me in a large city. If I go to my USPS account it quotes me $3.18 for Ground Advantage, with delivery in 2 days. However, if I do that, I am not protected, and can it negatively impact my metrics.

I can provide screenshots of this problem. We had 74 occurrences of that issue just on today's shipments alone. It is only on items under 1lb. Items that should ship for $3.18 and then have $3-4 profit left over are costing us $7.50-8.50 to ship by UPS. So we end up PAYING a couple dollars per transaction because we have to ship by Amazon Buy Shipping in order to have seller protection from an INR. Can't stay in business very long that way.
Why is Amazon promising the buyer something, but not giving us the ability to meet that promise made on our behalf?
Amazon is holding us to a standard that is established by something that they are claiming doesn't exist. Are you able to ask someone why that is happening?
Thank you for your help

Thanks for that example @Seller_xOzG1wCEEmFAt.
Sometimes the ship method used for the delivery promise is ineligible in Buy Shipping. This may be because the two are calculated at different times. This issue is known by our partner team and they are working on ways to correct or mitigate this problem.
I understand that many sellers have been raising shipping-availability issues in the forums this week. I have been sharing these threads with our partner teams.
These teams are investigating orders to ensure the correct shipping options are being offered, accounting for the extended transit times during peak periods. I will post any updates that I receive.

Yes, this has started happening to me as well over the past couple of weeks. Luckily I have stampsdotcom to take up the slack, but it's a headache switching back and forth. Ambots are no help. Why can't they just leave things alone? Very frustrating.

You need to adjust your shipping setting to include extra days. Your future orders will have the USPS Ground Advantage option. Your existing orders will need to buy shipping elsewhere.

Same issue here. It all began for me on 11/4/23. All of a sudden my $20 item that normally ships for $4.31-4.44, and gives me a $4 profit, now is only available priority mail for $7.60. Spent over an hour on the phone with seller support yesterday and got nowhere. Same thing happened last year around this time. So frustrating!

ditto me. also, anybody else have USPS MEDIA MAIL show a FASTER delivery time than USPS GROUND ADVANTAGE? happened to me on an order yesterday. but all USPS delivery times were DIMMED OUT because the deliver time was supposedly not quick enough. another order gave different delivery dates on USPS priority envelope vs. USPS priority cubic (under 1 lb). those are the same service and should have the exact same deliver date.

It's all because of the messed up Ground Advantage changeover. The "partner team" has repeatedly dropped the ball on something so simple that every other platform implemented seamlessly with zero issues. What kind of "partner team" is Amazon hiring to do this simple type of work that it's been a headache since July?

The rollout of Ground Advantage has been a disaster at Amazon and demonstrates a continuing decline in how the platform is run.

For ALL -
The line Amazon is selling you is false. My husband works for the post office - there is NO SLOW DOWN in the delivery of ground advantage.
This is a CASH GRAB.

Hello @Seller_xOzG1wCEEmFAt@Seller_KdC91pZ3upczK@Seller_Zismx4GAprKkX @Seller_gatjkdfPmzT4O and all other sellers asking about USPS Ground Advantage availability in Buy Shipping.
Our team highly recommends that sellers using Shipping Setting Automation edit their SSA shipping template to optimize for USPS Ground Advantage.
- Click ‘Edit Information’ next to the Shipping Settings Automation toggle button. SSA can be reached through Shipping Settings > Edit Template.
- Navigate to Standard Shipping Automation Preferences (Fulfillment Preferences).
- Choose the Item Package Weight dropdown in the Shipping Service Priority section to specify shipping services based on product weight conditions. (If it is not available, it is because Ground Advantage options in Shipping Services have not been selected.) Assign products under one pound to “Ground Advantage Light” and those greater than or equal to one pound to “Ground Advantage Heavy & Cubic."
See the example below. This will let your preferred USPS Ground Advantage shipping methods be used for delivery promise to the customers.

This has been happening to me as well! My only options have been priority mail. It's becoming quite expensive.
I also have a problem with several orders where I bought shipping directly at the post office. I immediately put in the valid tracking numbers, and Amazon is showing them as not tracked. When I copy and paste the same tracking number on the USPS site, it shows the detailed tracking and delivery.
This seemed to have started with the switch over to Ground Advantage. Amazon has hit my metrics for valid tracking as 70% when it should be 100% valid tracking. All tracking numbers were entered correctly. .
