Is it necessary to have a business license to obtain a commercial liability insurance
Hello! I've been selling for almost 5 years now and doing it from home. My tax preparer said that I don't really need to get a business license since that my business is home-based. Now, I could see that I MIGHT reach the 10K sales threshold in a month and Amazon will require me to submit commercial liability insurance. My questions are: Is it necessary to acquire a business license to obtain a commercial liability insurance? Or can I just get the Liability Insurance and apply for business license later? Does Marsh Insurance broker require business license to buy insurance? Thank you.

Seriously? Why don't you ask the INSURANCE COMPANY?
You are asking bar tenders to do brain surgery by asking on here.
The MORE important question is HOW have you been able to buy wholesale from legitimate sellers for the past 5 years.
By admitting that you do not have a license indicates to AMAZON (they do read the Forum) that you have been only doing RA or OA (or selling only USED items) and you have no LOAs or proper invoices.
