Today I wanted to start a discussion about optimizing your Inventory Performance Index, or IPI score. This important metric factors into your seller performance ratings, so it's worthwhile focusing on ways to maintain a high IPI.
Below are some best practices for maximizing your IPI Score:
- Monitor IPI reports closely and pay attention to specific ASINs that are lagging. Address any inventory or replenishment issues right away.
- Consider automating inventory replenishment, so stock levels stay consistently high. Out of stocks hurt your IPI.
- Respond promptly to any inventory-related messages from Amazon.
- Use features like enhanced brand content and content upgrades to boost buying consideration even when inventory is temporarily low.
- During peak seasons, layer in additional inventory buffers ahead of time using tools like Inventory Dashboard to foresee demand surges.
- Reach out to fellow sellers in the community for tips on how they strategize inventory for different product types.
