EIN and Business Name
Hi, we are trying to set-up the account we have LLC and EIN ready. During the business registration we need to change the company name. What proof do we need to provide as we have the same EIN for it.

What does this mean? You stated you have the business entity (the LLC) and the EIN. Are you changing the business name? FOr what purposes?
We changed from a sole prop to an LLC, we also changed states so I have experiance in making these adjustments but need more context.

Please be specific. You stated the LLC was not accepted (by whom?) when you first applied (for what?).
You stated "it" was changed (where was what changed?).
You stated "it" says on EIN no need to change. (what is it?)

1. LLC was created under M investments LLC on the same time we processed the EIN
2. LLC name under M investments got rejected by secretary of state cuz name needed to be changed. we changed the name to Thrift Merch LLC which got approved, hence the EIN still linked to the old name "M investments LLC"
3. thereafter submitting tax info on amazon we received an email from amazon says "We have observed that the tax identity information provided for your seller account does not match IRS records. Amazon requires that the name and tax ID numbers (SSN or EIN) submitted during the Tax Interview match IRS records"
we need help on how we can move forward from this.
Great, that clears this up.
To paraphrase. You processed the EIN before learning that the LLC name was accepted by the state.
You will need an EIN that matches the legal business entity.
Go process a new EIN with the correct business entity name and Amazon will be able to match it.

We have a partnership LLC so we avoided this issue. Often single member LLCs have the "disregarded entity". This complicated things because for tax purposes and in Amazons eyes the business name is still your name.
I would try to go a different way than the single member LLC to get your name off things. You could always incorperate in a place like Delaware or Wyoming, they have some different laws regarding LLC beneficiaries.
Every state has thier own set of laws regarding business incorperation so your miliage will vary.

This is an automatically generated response. The SSN refferance is for sole proprieters and single memeber LLCs.
You stated that you received the new EIN for M Investements LLC.
Did you enter the new EIN in settings>account info>business info>legal entity?
What they are looking for is that the legal entity matches the name on the EIN.
Also, if you did this very recently there may be some lag.

This may need to air out for a few days. There is some error here and in my experiance account data issues can clear up after a few days or a week. If it has been that long I would open a case.
