Restricted Generic ASIN error

I Have been trying to create an offer under an ASIN that is apparently restricted to one seller. I don't get how this is allowed when I'm sure there are many others also approved to sell this ASIN. Contacted seller support multiple times to be told I need to make a new ASIN for the exact same product to which I thought was against the rules to create a duplicate listing.

Above is the error I keep receiving. I am unable to simply input my price, quantity, and condition without receiving this error.

Yes my dear, you are unfortunately not up-to-date. Till some weeks ago you were right: it was against the rules to create a duplicate listing for identic GENERIC products.

This changed radically: now you MUST create a new ASIN for an identic generic product (means without any brand on the packaging).

We have been seeing lots of branded items being listed under generic just like this you will get zero help from Amazon we have simply taking these items to the bay customers will follow the product as long as Amazon keeps allowing this you will see migration to other platforms! GOOD JOB AMAZON KEEP SELF SABOTAGING THE PLATFORM!

I've been down that route this week. They tell you that you have to make a new listing. When I tried to do so using the correct brand name and accurate GTIN I was prevented because "that item (the generic one on which you can't add your offer) already exists.

As with so many other items, I just list it on other platforms and watch Amazon turn into a giant junk store. It's kind of like the shopping malls from the late 70's to mid 80's. You just HAD to be there if you wanted high sales. Now they are being filled with junk stores or being bulldozed. Good job Amazon!

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding the recent issue I encountered with one of our ASINs. I had submitted a case to the support team, and they were able to address and resolve the matter promptly.

Initially, the support team requested a real picture of the product in question to better understand the issue. Following the submission of the requested image, they were able to identify and rectify the problem effectively.

I appreciate amazon support team to prompt attention to this matter and the assistance provided in facilitating a swift resolution.
