Concerns About Reversed Reimbursements

Hello everyone,

I’ve noticed a troubling pattern with Reversed Reimbursements. Over time, every reimbursement I’ve received has eventually been reversed, one by one.

For example, today I got a notice to reverse a reimbursement from October 2023. This has happened with every reimbursement I’ve been granted. It’s very concerning and raises questions about the consistency of the process.

At this point, it almost feels like it’s better not to receive a reimbursement at all, as Amazon seems to take it back sooner or later.

I understand that sometimes lost inventory might be recovered, but it’s hard to believe this happens every single time. As FBA sellers, we cannot verify if the inventory was found or if there’s another reason for these reversals.

Has anyone else experienced this? I’d appreciate any insights or clarification from Amazon to help us better understand this process.

Thank you!

Hi @Seller_g487kocTZIvCl,

I found some relevant information in the help pages that might explain what's happening:

According to https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/GMGJASYYNYLXKLXE, Amazon can reverse reimbursements in two cases (See 'Reimbursement Type' > 'Reimbursement_Reversal'):

  • If the reimbursement was issued incorrectly
  • If the lost inventory is later found and returned to your stock

You can track the details of each reimbursement and reversal in your Reimbursements report (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G200732720): https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/ssof/reports/search.html#recordType=REIMBURSEMENTS

Kind regards, Michael
