Selling here has made me never want to buy from Amazon again
I used to love Amazon. There was a time when it would always be my first choice for any online purchase. But that was a long time ago. Now I only buy from them when the item I want is not available anywhere else.
As a buyer, I really don't like Amazon's increasing use of print-on-demand for books and their declining practices in how they ship them (loose in a box without packing material, or in a flimsy envelope), their censorship of "controversial" conservative titles prompted by activist complaints, and their switch from UPS to Staples for free returns (my local Staples is horrible). Before about 2010 or so, Amazon was THE place online to buy books, but not any more.
As a seller, however, my opinion of Amazon has gone from bad to worse. I only stay because I have a limited inventory that I want to get rid of, and Amazon is for now still the place where I can sell my books the fastest. There are days, though, when I consider taking the whole lot to the landfill. I may do that the next time I get unreasonable feedback or some clown submits a fraudulent A-to-z claim.
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel uneasy about giving Amazon any more money than they already do through fees and customer theft?
