Mountain Climbing Ropes are defined by the Consumer Product Safety Act and referred to as rope products manufactured and sold for supporting one’s body. The scope covers those with multiple purposes including supporting one’s body. The term “supporting one’s body” here means to prevent one’s body from falling in case the climbing/descending person falls by slipping etc. on the cliff, steep snowed/iced mountainsides etc.
The sale of all products of this product type on the Amazon website must meet specified certification standards. To sell these products on Amazon, you must apply by submitting the following information and documents to this email address:

1. Copy(s) of “Notification of Business for Manufacturing (or Importing) Consumer Products” or the register information of manufacturing or import business on METI’s The Safety Portal Website. (the Table of Classification by Katashiki must be included)
This document must include the subjects below:
Date of the commencement of the business
Classification of Consumer Products
Classifications by Katashiki (product type). (If compiled as an Attachment, the Attachment is also required)
Name and address with regard to all manufacturing plants
Contents of the Measure Set Forth in Article 6 of the Consumer Product Safety Act (If compiled as an Attachment, the Attachment is also required)
2. Inspection Records of all final products
3. Photographs of the product labeling. The photographs need to be clear enough to recognize subjects below;
"1/2" mark in the case of a rope is to be used by folding the rope in half or by using two ropes
Notified Business Name (abbreviated name, mark or registered Trademark for which the approval of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry has been obtained may be indicated instead)
Precautions for use that will be necessary for ensuring the safe use of the mountain climbing rope
4. Proof of METI’s approval if there is a difference between the Notified Business Name on the labels and the one in the Notification of Business
