Submitting Identity Verification Documents

To learn more about the review process and the documents required, click here (only available in Japanese)

To preserve both buyer and seller trust in the marketplace, identify verification documents must be submitted after an account is registered. If you have not yet submitted identity verification documents, be sure to prepare and submit them. After you submit your documents, they will be reviewed at Amazon, and once your identity is verified, you can begin selling products. (You cannot begin selling on Amazon until the review of your identity verification documents is complete.)

There are two types of identity verification documents required:

  1. Photo identification (passport, driver’s license, basic resident registration card with photo, residence card), and
  2. Bill or statement issued within 180 days (credit card statement, internet banking statement of account, savings account passbook, balance certificate)
Your photo identification must be still within its period of validity, and the name on it must match the information registered on Seller Central.

(The Seller Identity Verification page will not appear if you have already completed your document submission. If you have already submitted your documents, you will be taken to the ‘Add a Product’ page instead.)
