The majority of Amazon customers purchase the Featured Offer (Buy Box) on the Product Detail page. Offers may be ineligible to be featured when they are not priced competitively compared to other retailers outside of Amazon (the Competitive Price). The Compare Prices outside Amazon feature, available when either creating a Competitive Buy Box rule or a Competitive Lower Price rule, ensures that your prices automatically match the Competitive Price and increase your chance of being featured in the Buy Box and grow your sales on Amazon.
Here are a few examples of how this feature works:
-
For an offer repriced by a
Match Buy Box rule with Compare Prices outside Amazon selected:
-
If your current offer price is 2500 JPY, the Competitive
Price is 2200 JPY and the Featured Offer on Amazon is 2300 JPY, then your offer will
be repriced at 2200 JPY to match the Competitive Price.
-
If your
current offer price is 8000 JPY, the Competitive Price is 12000 JPY and there are no
other offers below 12000 JPY on Amazon, then your offer will be repriced at 12000 JPY
to match the Competitive Price.
-
For an offer
repriced by a 100 JPY Higher than Buy Box with Compare Prices outside Amazon
selected:
-
If your current offer price is 9000 JPY, the Competitive
Price is 11000 JPY and the Featured Offer on Amazon is 9500 JPY, then your offer will
be repriced at 9600 JPY to stay 100 JPY above the Featured Offer price.
-
For an offer repriced by a Lowest Price rule with Compare Prices Off Amazon selected:
-
If your current offer price is 5000 JPY, the Competitive
Price is 4000 JPY and the Lowest Price on Amazon is 4500 JPY, then your offer will be
repriced at 4000 JPY to match the Competitive Price.
You can track competitive price triggers through the Price History
link accessible from the Manage SKUs page of Automate Pricing.
Note: Selecting this feature does not guarantee that you will be the Featured Offer. You can
choose to turn on or off this rule attribute at any time.
