Manage Holiday Settings

The Holiday Settings widget in Seller Central gives sellers an overview of upcoming public holidays. Sellers can customize them to match their operation schedule and capability.

There are a set of public holidays predefined in Seller Central. When estimating shipping date and delivery date, holidays are not counted as operating day. Therefore estimated shipping date and delivery date that fall into holidays would be pushed out to the next operating day after the holidays. Sellers who have the operation capability and want to keep handling and fulfilling customer orders can customize the holidays and override to operating days.

How to override public holidays in Seller Central

  1. In Seller Central, go to Settings > Shipping Settings.
  2. Click “Edit” next to “Holidays” to see a list of predefined public holidays.
  3. Select the holiday(s) you want to override and count as operating day(s) by clicking the corresponding check box(es).
  4. Click Save.
  5. Go back to the Shipping Settings page. The holiday(s) you overrode will be tagged as “set as operating day."
Remember: The override of holiday(s) applies to only orders placed after the change is effective, orders placed before the change would not be impacted, regardless of whether or not the orders have been handled or not.

How to revert back the holidays

For sellers that have overridden some holidays to operating days, they can revert these days to holidays in case of any change on the operation plan.

  1. In Seller Central, go to Settings > Shipping Settings.
  2. Click “Edit” next to “Holidays.” widget.
  3. You can see the list of holidays including those set as operating days (where the check box under “Set as Operating Day” is checked).
  4. Click to remove “✓” in the check box and save.
  5. Go back to the Shipping Settings page, you can see the holiday(s) back.

Remember: Similar to the override of holiday(s), the reversal applies to orders placed after the change is effective, orders placed before the change will not be impacted, regardless of whether or not the orders have been handled or not.

How Holiday Settings work with other shipping settings

For all the offers regardless which shipping template are associated with, as long as seller overrides a holiday into an operating day, the day is counted as operating day available for handling.

When a holiday falls on a weekend and the seller overrides the holiday to an operating day through the “Holiday Settings” widget, that day counts as an operating day, regardless of seller’s weekend operation settings.
