Amazon Double Points Week

Introduction

Double Points Week is an Amazon-funded points up campaign. In this campaign, customers who purchase 10,000 JPY or above from eligible offers can earn twice the points. Based on the points sellers granted to customers during the campaign, Amazon will fund and grant the same amount of points1 to customers one month after the campaign. For example, if a seller who is eligible for the campaign sets 1% points to an offer with a price of 1000 JPY. During the campaign, customers will receive 10 points (at seller cost) immediately after making a purchase and an additional 10 points (at Amazon cost) one month later.

1Maximum points funded by Amazon is 5,000 points per customer and up to 5% per item price.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What are the benefits to sellers participating in the “Double Points Week”?

Japanese customers love points. As customers will be incentivized by earning twice the points, sellers can expect sales increase during the campaign. Eligible offers will be displayed on Product Detail Page with a campaign badge, which customers can easily identify. In addition, Amazon will leverage multiple channels (e.g. direct emails to customers, campaign banner on gateway, posts on social media, and so on.) to increase traffic.

Q2. How can I check my current point setting status and whether I am eligible for the “Double Points Week”?

You can confirm your point settings by downloading your “Open Listings Report Lite”. Below are detailed steps.

  1. Check the total number of your buyable offers (“listing offers)

Go to Seller Central > Inventory > Inventory Reports . Select Open Listings Lite as report type, then Request Report > Download Report.

    * Note that you need to click Permanently enable points in reports button on the upper left of the page (first time only) to include the points column in your report. If you are using Custom Inventory Reports, make sure to add the “standard-price-point” attributes to your report.

  2. Check if the point percentage of an offer meets the campaign criteria “1% or more points”.

As the points column in Inventory Report indicates points amount instead of point percentage for each offer, you need to convert the point amount to point percentage. You can use the below formula to see whether an offer meets the criteria: ROUND (“points” / “price” * 100, 0) >= 1

  3. Check if the number of point offers meets the campaign criteria “80% or more of your buyable offers”

Count the number of your buyable offers with 1% or more points and see whether it meets the below formula: Number of buyable offers with 1% or more points> = ROUNDDOWN (total number of buyable offers * 0.8, 0)

    * If you only have 1 buyable offer in total, you need to set 1% or more points to that offer.

Q3. I set 1% points to all my offers. However, when I convert the point amount to point percentage based on the Inventory Report, some of offers have point percentage less than 1% (e.g. 0.94%). Do offers meet the campaign criteria “1% or more points”?

You can use the formula introduced in FAQ 2 to check whether an offer meets the criteria “1% or more points”. For example, you set 1% to an offer of price 122 JPY. On your Inventory Report, it shows 1 point (1% x 122 JPY = 1pt). Based on the formula, ROUND(1 point / 122 JPY *100, 0) equals to 1. This offer meets the criteria.

Q4. I have 26 buyable offers in total. How many offers I need to set 1% or more points in order to meet the campaign criteria “80% or more of your buyable offers”?

You can use the formula introduced in FAQ2 to check whether the number of your buyable offers with 1% or more points meets the criteria. In this case, ROUNDDOWN (26 buyable offers x 0.8, 0) = 20 offers. You need to set 1% or more points to 20 buyable offers.

Q5. I applied the points settings to my offers before the start of the campaign but beyond the due date to set points for the campaign. Can I be eligible to participate in the campaign?

To be eligible for the campaign, you are required to apply the points settings to your offers no later than the due date to set points for the campaign.

Q6. Can I change the point settings of my offers during the campaign?

Yes, you are flexible to change the points settings during the campaign. However, please make sure 90% or more of your buyable offers have 1% or above points throughout the campaign, otherwise your offers will not be eligible for the double points.

Q7. Will the points funded by Amazon impact referral fees?

No. The referral fee will be calculated based on the nominal value of the points issued by seller.

Q8. Where will eligible offers be identified to customers?

The eligible offers will be identified in the campaign page, search results, and detailed page.
