Why was my bank account information rejected?

Here are some common reasons why bank account information is rejected:

  • You entered information for a US checking account, but the bank's 9-digit routing number, your bank account number, or the numbers from the bottom of the check were mistyped. Confirm and re-enter the information.
  • You entered information for a bank located in a country supported by Amazon Currency Converter but the required bank account information was entered incorrectly. Confirm and re-enter the information, or contact your bank for assistance. For more information on required bank account information for Amazon Currency Converter supported countries, see Bank Account Information.
  • Your bank is not located in a country supported by Amazon Currency Converter or Hyperwallet.
  • You entered the numbers from the bottom of a deposit slip instead of a check. Although these are often the same, in some cases they may not be. Please re-enter the numbers using a check.
  • You provided a routing number for wire transfers instead of for Automated Clearing House (ACH) or electronic funds transfers. Please contact your bank for assistance.
  • Your US bank account is not ACH-enabled. Please use a US checking account that is ACH-enabled.
  • You entered your bank account number from your ATM debit card. Use the bank account number from your bank statement, not from your ATM card.
