Illegal and Potentially Illegal
Products
Products sold on the Amazon.co.jp website must comply with all applicable laws.
Sellers are legally liable for their actions and transactions, which means sellers
must be aware of the law governing any product they offer for sale on Amazon.co.jp.
This includes the sale of products by individuals outside Japan. Products prohibited
for sale on the Amazon.co.jp website include the following:
Loose stone/unset jewel products
Jewelry products that are sold by a
seller who is not designated by a manufacturer/seller of the product as an
authorized reseller, or jewelry products for which a standard warranty by the
manufacturer is not provided to the buyer (including watches)
All other products that Amazon.co.jp
determines are not authorized for sale on the Amazon.co.jp website at its sole
discretion.
Approval or Licensing
The sale of products by a seller who has not obtained required licenses,
registrations or notifications to sell the said products in Japan, or the sale of
products that are not approved or licensed for sale in Japan, are prohibited.
Examples:
Products that do not have the PSC mark,
which is required by the Consumer Products Safety Act. You must not sell a product
that may put life or body of consumers in danger unless it has obtained the PSC
mark license which tells that the product conforms to the national technical
standard.

LP gas products (cartridge stove burners, etc) that do not have the PSLPG mark, which is required by the Act Concerning the Securing of Safety and the Optimization of Transaction of Liquefied Petroleum Gas.
A seller who is any of the following: manufacturer, importer, and distributor has a duty to ensure that a gas product has the PSTG or PSLPG mark which indicates that the product conforms to the technical standard.
Products that are regulated by the High Pressure Gas Safety, or products that violate or potentially violate the Act due to their use or otherwise by handling. It includes the following cases:
With respect to the containers (tanks, cylinders, etc.) and accessories (valves, safety valves, etc.) that are intended to be filled and used with high-pressure gas (compressed gas etc. with a pressure of 1 MPa or more) subject to the High Pressure Gas Safety Act, the sale of such containers and accessories that have not passed the inspection and that have not been imprinted the required stamp pursuant to the Act is prohibited.
When handling containers, etc., please note the following points in accordance with the High Pressure Gas Safety Act.
In principle, transfer or delivery is prohibited unless the container (accessory) has passed the container inspection (accessory inspection).
If you intend to repeat filling of the container with high-pressure gas, you must notify the prefectural governor in advance as the production of high-pressure gas and comply with technical standards.
In addition, notification and compliance with technical standards may be required when storing, selling, transferring, or consuming high-pressure gas. For more information on the High Pressure Gas Safety Act, please refer to the following Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry website.
Products regulated under the Act on
Prevention of Radiation Hazards due to Radioisotopes, etc.
Products which contain
radioisotopes such as tritium and are required to meet the requirement of
permission or notification on its use and sale, etc under the Act on
Prevention of Radiation Hazards due to Radioisotopes, etc.
Tableware, kitchen utensils, toys, etc. : Tableware, kitchen utensils,
containers, packaging, toys, etc. which are regulated under the Japan Food Sanitation
Act and other standards but do not comply with them are prohibited.
Virtual Currencies and Items for Online Games: If real-money trade (RMT) of virtual currencies or items used in an online game is prohibited by the company operating the game, any offer for sale that would encourage RMT in the game is prohibited.
Coterie (Dojin) books: Amazon prohibits listing of books that lack JAN or ISBN code. For the avoidance of doubt, even if a book has a JAN or ISBN code, listing of such book may be prohibited if it falls under any other restricted product category such as restricted adult products or products infringing rights of a third party.
Imported Foods & Beverages: Imported products (personal imports) that do not comply with the Japan Food Sanitation Act (including Food labeling standards, etc.) and other laws such as Act for JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standard), Health Promoting Act, Measurement Act, Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations Act, or ministry guidelines are prohibited. This includes acting for personal imports or adopting a similar method for listing products that are restricted by laws or ministry guidelines (salt, rice, alcohol, livestock species, supplements contain pharmaceutical ingredients, etc.), and shipping imported products directly to a buyer.
Pets: If you intend to list pet
food on our website, you must comply with the Pet Food Safety Act. If you intend to
import and sell pet food, you must submit notification to the Regional Agricultural
Administration Office or its equivalent of the prefecture in which the vendor's
principal office is located. For details, please check the information provided under

Attention: Selling prong
collars and any other collars for pets that have inward-facing spikes are
prohibited.
Feed Crops and Feed Additives: If
you intend to list feed crops or feed additives on our website, you must comply with Act
on Safety Assurance and Quality Improvement of Feeds. In order to import feed crops or
feed additives, you must file a notification to the Minister of Agriculture, and in
order to sell feed crops or feed additives, you must file a notification to the governor
of a prefecture where the headquarters of your company is located, by two weeks before
the date of starting the business. Selling feed crops or feed additives which are
prohibited under the laws/ regulations or do not comply with standards determined by the
laws/regulations are strictly prohibited. For details, please check information on the

Mystery boxes: “Mystery boxes,” “Surprise boxes,” or similarly named products
containing items that are not clearly described on the product detail page.
Incinerators: The use of incinerators must comply with laws and ordinances of
each prefecture. When listing/selling an incinerator, you must state the legal notice to
that effect.

Note: The capacity of gasoline must be described on the product detail page. If the capacity of gasoline is not described on the product detail page, the listing and sales of the products are prohibited regardless of the capacity of gasoline.

Sanctioned Countries, Entities, and
Individuals: Export control and economic sanctions laws in the United States and
a number of other countries prohibit or restrict unlicensed transactions with parties
(i.e., individuals, entities, government regimes) identified as engaging in terrorism,
narcotics trafficking, weapons proliferation and other activities that threaten those
countries' national security, foreign policies or economies (Denied Parties).
Various
government agencies publish lists of such parties (Denied Parties Lists).
In addition, many countries maintain trade sanctions and ebargo programs against
specific countries (Sanctioned Countries), such that unlicensed transactions
involving those embargoed countries are prohibited or restricted.
In order to comply with these and other legal requirements, it is Amazon's general
policy that items imported from or originating in the following countries and regions
may not be sold on Amazon:

Crimea Region of Ukraine
No shipments or sales to parties in any of these countries or Syria may be conducted
through Amazon.
