Amazon Partnered Carrier FAQ

Is the Amazon Partnered Carrier service available for all sellers?

All sellers registered with FBA program are entitled for this service, except for those whose seller account is suspended or are behind in their payments.

Does the Amazon Partnered Carrier service support any FBA inbound shipment?

The Amazon Partnered Carrier service currently supports only domestic shipments to the following fulfillment centers in Japan; it doesn't support shipments to other Amazon fulfillment centers or inbound international shipments.

Note: The Amazon Partnered Carrier service does not support chilled/frozen delivery. Please do not choose the Amazon Partnered Carrier service when you send chocolates to VJWB during the summer.

Are there any limitations in box size and packaging requirements to use the Amazon Partnered Carrier service?

The size and the weight of the boxes you can use for the service conform to the packaging and shipping requirements for FBA. For terms and conditions including delivery requirements, refer to the website of Japan Post or Yamato:

Where can I see a shipping price list of the Amazon Partnered Carrier service?

Visit the Japan Post home page to learn about the standard shipping fee of Yu-pack (parcel). You can also go to the Prepare shipment page to see an estimated shipping fee for individual shipment when Japan Post or Yamato is selected.

When is the shipping fee charged?

The shipping fee is charged at the moment you click the Accept charges on the Prepare Shipment page.

How do I cancel a shipping order placed to the Amazon Partnered Carrier service?

Even if you cancel a shipment, your shipping order to the Amazon Partnered Carrier service is still valid and you will be charged. In order to avoid being charged, be sure to click the Void charges on the Prepare Shipment page within 24 hours (Japan Post) or 3 hours (Yamato) after you click the Accept charges button.

Note: You cannot either void the charge or receive a refund once the 24 hours (Japan Post) or 3 hours (Yamato) have passed after you approved the charges.

How precise should I be in measuring the size and weight of my shipping box?

The shipping charge is calculated based on the total lengths of the three sides of your box, the ship-from address, and the ship-to address. Make sure that the total of the three sides of your box fits in one of the categories specified by Japan Post: 80, 100, 120, 140, 160, or 170 cm, and Yamato: 80, 100, 120, 140, or 160 cm. The weight limit is 25 kg for all sizes. The parcel weight is not considered for calculating the shipping fee; you can enter the approximate value as long as it stays within the limit.

There was a discrepancy in the dimensions between the box I sent and the data I entered online. How is this case handled?

The shipping charge will be calculated based on the ship-from address as well as the dimension of the box you enter in FBA shipping plan.

Note: Make sure to enter the correct number and dimension of the boxes as well as the ship-from address. If significant data discrepancies are found repeatedly, your eligibility for the Amazon Partnered Carrier service may be suspended.

Does the Amazon Partnered Carrier service support shipments from convenience stores?

No. The delivery slips for the Amazon Partnered Carrier service cannot be used to send a parcel from convenience stores.

My shipment has not yet arrived at its destination fulfillment center even after the scheduled arrival date. Is there any way to track them?

You can go to the tracking service on the Japan Post or Yamato website to check the delivery status of your shipment. For details, contact the post office where you took in your parcel.

The product arrived damaged at its destination fulfillment center. How will I be compensated?

If products are damaged or lost during the course of delivery to the fulfillment center using the Amazon Partnered Carrier, Japan Post or Yamato will be liable for the damage or loss. Contact the post office or Yamato sales office where you took in your parcel.
