Cash On Delivery Settings

Only Pro Merchants are eligible to use the Cash On Delivery feature.

Only sellers who meet Amazon's eligibility criteria can add Cash On Delivery to their payment methods.

For Cash On Delivery orders, buyers can pay in cash when they receive the item. Buyers can prepay part of the amount of the product charge using Amazon Gift Cards or Amazon Points and pay the balance of the amount when they receive the item.

Your carrier delivers items and collects the collectible amount for Cash On Delivery orders. Please note that payment for such orders is not made through Amazon Payment: it is the seller’s responsibility to collect the collectible amount from the buyer. When a shipment is confirmed for a Cash On Delivery order, Amazon charges a referral fee to your seller account.

Note: Before using the Cash On Delivery feature, please refer to the Cash On Delivery Terms and Conditions and Important Notes below.
Important:
  • To use the Cash On Delivery feature, you must make a contract with your carrier and prepare a dedicated form. Please ensure that your system can appropriately manage Cash On Delivery orders.
  • After you receive permission to use the Cash On Delivery feature, you are required to activate the Cash On Delivery feature by yourself. Please refer to Payment Method Settings in detail.
  • It is the seller’s responsibility to collect the collectible amount from the buyer in Cash On Delivery orders.
  • Refunds of Cash On Delivery orders are processed via Amazon Gift Cards or Amazon Points and bank transfer.
  • Amazon has the discretion to reject a seller's request to use the Cash On Delivery feature based on the seller's sales history, feedback ratings, and other information.
  • If you want to suspend the Cash On Delivery feature, deactivate the feature. Please refer to Payment Method Settings for details.

Cash On Delivery Orders Policy

  • You must confirm shipment for Cash On Delivery orders without delay. Late shipment confirmation may result in the suspension of your seller account.
  • You can charge only the Cash On Delivery collectible amount to a buyer. The amount can be referred to on the Manage Orders page, in Order Reports, and on Packing Slips. If you charge an amount higher than the Cash On Delivery collectible amount to a buyer, it may result in the suspension of your seller account.
  • Buyers can prepay part of the amount of an order using Amazon Gift Cards or Amazon Points. In this case, the Cash On Delivery collectible amount is the total amount of the order minus the prepaid amount. Amazon will pay you the amount prepaid using Amazon Gift Cards or Amazon Points through Amazon Payment in the same way as with credit card payments.
  • It is your responsibility to collect the collectible amount from the buyer through a carrier. Please note that Amazon does not take any responsibility in the event that you fail to manage Cash On Delivery orders appropriately or fail to collect the collectible amount from the buyer.
