Currency, Coins, and Cash Equivalents

Note: If you supply products for sale or listing on Amazon, you must comply with all laws and Amazon policies applicable to those products and product listings.

Without limiting the foregoing, you must comply with laws and regulations applicable to you and will, upon Amazon’s request, provide documents relevant to the anti-money laundering regulations to Amazon.

Items considered exonumia, including but not limited to medals, medallions, challenge coins, and commemorative coins not primarily made of a precious metal are exempt from this policy.

Examples of Permitted Listings

  • Paper money, coins, and commemorative coins that are not currently valid legal tender.
  • Precious metal bullion and crude metal other than gold, silver, and platinum.

Examples of Prohibited Listings

The following are never permitted for sale or listing on Amazon:

  • Paper money, coins, and commemorative coins that are currently valid legal tender
    Note: Including paper money and coins that are not currently issued by the government but can be still used as valid legal tender.
  • Products which we have concerns about money laundering or other inappropriate transactions such as gift certificates, gift cards, gift codes, POSA cards, and other cash vouchers, etc.
  • Cash equivalent instruments such as money orders, postal orders, stamps, traveler’s checks
  • Counterfeit items of paper money, coins, commemorative coins and any cash equivalents
  • Equipment designed to create counterfeit items
  • Bitcoins
  • Stocks, bonds and any other securities
  • Gold, silver, and platinum bullions (including crude metal)
