Seller Fulfilled Prime performance metrics

Note: There are new additional requirements to the Seller Fulfilled Prime program in Japan in order to improve the Prime customer experience. These new requirements went into effect on July 15, 2021.

In order to maintain eligibility for Seller Fulfilled Prime, sellers must always meet the following performance requirements on their Seller Fulfilled Prime orders trailing 7 days:

  • On-time delivery rate of at least 96%.
  • Valid tracking rate of at least 94%.
  • A cancellation rate of no more than 1%.
  • Nationwide Prime delivery coverage for all standard size Prime enabled shipping templates.
  • Weekend operations, that is shipping seven days a week including Saturday and Sunday, except public holidays.
  • One-Day and Two-Day Delivery Speed targets for standard size and oversize products.

The Seller Fulfilled Prime performance section in Seller Central displays the fulfillment performance metrics and delivery speed metrics you must always keep track of. The Manage Seller Fulfilled Prime inventory and Seller Fulfilled Prime defects report show the Prime coverage for nationwide.

List of performance metrics

On-time shipment

On-time shipment is calculated by dividing the number of Seller Fulfilled Prime packages that were shipped on or before the promised ship date by the total number of Seller Fulfilled Prime packages shipped.

Seller Fulfilled Prime packages are considered shipped when the carrier scans the package for the first time, and not when you confirm shipment.

Note: In case the ship confirmation is made on the next day of the actual shipment, Amazon will be able to track only the status after that, which might be regarded as late shipment. You must ship confirm as soon as the shipment occurs.

On-time delivery

On-time delivery is the percentage of Seller Fulfilled Prime packages that were delivered on or before the promised delivery date. If the tracking status is Customer absent, the package is regarded as “delivered”. However, if the status is Returned to depot, the package is not regarded as “delivered” as there is no delivery attempt by the carrier. Please also be aware that there is a term for carriers and ship methods that should be used for Seller Fulfilled Prime.

Valid Tracking Rate

Valid tracking rate is the ratio of Seller Fulfilled Prime packages that were trackable on Amazon. To calculate this metric, we take the number of Seller Fulfilled Prime Packages you ship with a valid tracking number and divide it by the total number of Seller Fulfilled Prime packages you have shipped and confirmed. Please confirm the list of carriers and ship methods that can be used for Seller Fulfilled Prime. The list of carrier name entries we accept at the timing of ship confirmation is here.

Cancellation rate

Cancellation rate is the number of Seller Fulfilled Prime units canceled by you before ship-confirmation divided by the total number of Seller Fulfilled Prime units ordered. To calculate this metric, we consider all cancellations initiated by you for any reason.

A customer can cancel an order up to 5 minutes after placing it with no action required from you. If after 5 minutes of placing an order a customer officially requests an order cancellation, you can cancel the order and it will not count against your Cancellation Rate metric.

The official process by which a customer can request an order cancellation is by finding the order they want to cancel in their Amazon account, by clicking Your Account > Your Orders > Request cancellation .

You will be notified of an officially requested buyer-initiated cancellation via:

  • Email
  • Manage Orders page on Seller Central
  • Order Reports on Seller Central
  • Orders API response (MWS & SP-API)

For more information, go to Order cancellations.

To see what’s affecting your cancellation rate, look for orders with an “X” in the Order canceled by seller column of your defects report.

Delivery speed metrics

Meet Delivery Speed targets for one-day and two-day delivery promises. The Delivery Speed metrics measures the percentage of customer page views that displayed a one or two-day delivery promise when your SFP offer was the featured offer, regardless of whether a purchase was made.

The targets for SFP Delivery Speed metrics are below, and also visible on the Performance Dashboard.

Standard Size Oversize
One Day or less Product Detail Page views (%) 70% 35%
Two Day or less Product Detail Page views (%) 85% 75%

Weekend operations

Sellers that are enrolled in Seller Fulfilled Prime are required to operate and ship out Prime products Monday through Sunday. Customer page views occurring after cut-off time will be expected to ship the next day before cut-off time.

Nationwide Prime delivery coverage

Standard-size products on a Prime shipping template must offer nationwide Prime delivery coverage (all prefectures in all regions except Okinawa, Hokkaido, and Ritou). You can see which products are standard size or oversize in Manage Seller Fulfilled Prime. For more information, go to Seller Fulfilled Prime item size, weights, and dimensions.
