Under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan, sellers outside of Japan who sell on Amazon.co.jp (“you” or “your”) are required to take the following measures to protect personal information obtained in the course of selling products on Amazon.co.jp. Amazon requests you to represent and warrant that you have taken the below measures in order to comply with applicable laws and regulations, and to provide a more secure shopping experience on Amazon.
You represent and warrant that you have taken, and are taking, all measures that are equivalent to, or more protective of personal information than the measures required to comply with the Amazon.co.jp Privacy Notice or, in the alternative, measures in line with the eight OECD Privacy Principles under the OECD Guidelines on the Protection of Privacy and Transborder Flows of Personal Data.
For further details on the measures required to be taken by business operators handling personal information under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan, visit the Personal Information Protection Commission Japan website (English) / https://www.ppc.go.jp/index.html (Japanese).
For details on the eight OECD Privacy Principles, see the OECD Guidelines on the Protection of Privacy and Transborder Flows of Personal Data provided by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.
If Amazon determines that you are or may be in breach of this policy or that you are or may be inappropriately using personal information obtained through your Amazon seller account, Amazon may conduct any investigations that Amazon deems necessary, and, in each case, you are required to cooperate with the investigation.
