With FBA Export, Amazon provides fulfillment and customer service for your orders, including processing buyer returns. Amazon uses Amazon’s return policies to determine whether a unit is eligible to be returned. However, to ensure a good buyer experience, Amazon will make case-by-case exceptions and accept returns for units fulfilled through FBA that may be past the stated return time frame.
When a buyer returns a product, the standard Amazon returns policy will be followed. If the returned product is received in sellable condition, it will be returned to the original seller’s inventory. If the returned product is not in sellable condition, Amazon will determine who is at fault (Amazon or the buyer) and make reimbursement according to the FBA lost and damaged inventory reimbursement policy.
The buyer must pay the return shipping costs if there is no product defect. If there is a product defect, the buyer pays and ships the product back to Amazon’s warehouse. Amazon will compensate the buyer for the actual return shipping cost when the parcel is received.
For more information, see FBA customer returns policy.
See Export Regions Eligible for International Shipping for countries and territories supported by FBA Export.
Export transaction is subject to exemption from consumption tax under Japanese consumption tax law and thus zero percent consumption tax rate is applied to your export sales. You are the seller of record for the product shipped to outside Japan using the FBA Export program, and thus the exemption of consumption tax is applicable to your sales, not to Amazon. For this exemption from consumption tax, following the requirement from the Japanese tax authority, it is required to generate the list of transactions to which consumption tax exemption will not be applied (“Transaction List” hereafter). The Transaction List will be generated automatically based on Amazon Fulfilled Shipments report. Please make sure to check the Amazon Fulfilled Shipments report on a timely basis, and please contact Technical Support if you have any questions within 5 business days after the end of the month in which the relevant transaction is made.
In order to obtain the export permit for your shipment through FBA Export program, please contact Technical Support. We will provide you with the export permit generally within 10 business days after your contact.
