Bank account information

Amazon uses electronic transfers to pay your sales proceeds to you. Before you can receive payments, your seller account must specify a bank account for us to deposit money into. We cannot transfer funds to a credit card or online payment system such as PayPal.

Check your bank account to avoid payment delays. Note that only authorized userscan change methods for receiving payments.

Entering Japanese bank account information

You will need the 4-digit bank code and 3-digit branch code to enter account information for a Japanese bank. Contact your bank if you don't know these codes. If your bank or branch has been merged with another bank or branch, be sure to enter the most updated information to your seller account.

If your account number is less than 7 digits, add 0 (zero) at the beginning to make it 7 in total. ex. 9876 → 0009876

Up to 16 characters can be entered into the Account Holder Name field, using one of the followings:

  • one-byte katakanas
  • one-byte uppercase alphabets
  • one-byte numbers
  • one-byte spaces, parentheses, hyphens, sonant marks, p-sound consonant mark

Requirements for entry to Account Holder Name:

  1. All characters, including parentheses, must be in one-byte (e.g. "アマゾンジヤパン", not "アマゾンジャパン")
  2. Use hyphens "(-)", not dashes "( ー )"
  3. Katakana characters must be in upper case (e.g. "ァィゥェォャュョッ" → "アイウエオヤユヨツ")
  4. There is no extra space (a space is required between the last and first name).

The number of characters you enter in the Account Holder Name must be less than 17 or the sales proceedings will not be transferred to your account successfully. You may need to use an alias name if your name consists of more 17 characters or more. Please contact your bank for more details.

You can use abbreviations to shorten your bank account holder name. For example, ")" is an abbreviation for the "カブシキガイシャ" ("Inc."). See more samples and rules of abbreviations.

Add or edit your bank account information
