Inventory Amazon Fulfills Troubleshooting
This guide provides causes and solutions to common errors relating to your Inventory Amazon Fulfills listings. There are three error messages you could encounter:
Without an inventory listing, your item cannot be seen or purchased on Amazon.co.jp. There are several different issues that can stop your inventory item from listing.
The most common cause occurs when your items appear in the Inventory Amazon Fulfills page but no listing exists on the All Inventory View page. This happens when the listing is deleted for the item using a feed or the All Inventory View page.
Solution
If you are a Pro Merchant, you can relist the item, either through a normal feed process, or using the "Add a Product" button in the All Inventory View page.
When relisting an item, ASIN, Condition and Merchant SKU fields must match the original listing: If these fields do not match, a second item will be added to your Inventory Amazon Fulfills page that is not associated with the existing inventory.
If you list products that have size or color specified without a parent product, they will not show up for sale on the Amazon.co.jp website.
Solution
If your products have size or color attributes without a parent product, you must remove the size or color or add a parent product to handle the size and color variations properly.
If you do not include a price with your listing, Amazon.co.jp will not be able to sell your item.
Solution
If an item in inventory is not listing because it does not have a price, adding a price will make it available for purchase on Amazon.co.jp. To add a price in Seller Central, follow these steps:
- Locate the item in the All Inventory View.
- Enter a price in the corresponding Your Price field.
Pro Merchants can specify a Launch Date when adding a product. If you have set the Launch Date to a time in the future, your item will not list on Amazon.co.jp until the date entered.
Solution
If your item is not listing because it has a future Launch Date, you change the Launch Date to a past date or delete it. To change the Launch Date in Seller Central, follow these steps:
- Locate the item in the All Inventory View.
- Click “Edit” in the far right column.
- On the lower, right side of the Edit your product information page click the “Edit this product” button.
- At the bottom of the Contribute your own product information page, click the “+” to expand the “Your Product Details: Optional” section.
- In the Launch Date field, delete the date or enter a date that has already passed.
- Click the “Save & continue” button.
- On the Edit your product information page click the “Continue” button.
- On the Review and sell your product page click the “Submit your listing” button.
If you have changed your account Listing Status to “Inactive” during your vacation or for some other reason, you inventory will not be listed on Amazon.co.jp. (Pro Merchants only?)
Solution
If your item is not listing be the Listing Status is “Inactive,” you can change the account status by following these directions:
1. From your Seller Central account select “Settings.”
2. Click Account Info.
3. Next to Listings Status, click the “Edit” button.
4. Select “Active (Listings available for sale on Amazon.co.jp)”
5. Click the “Update” button.
If you have recently added an item listing, the online inventory system can take up to 24 hours to make your item available.
Solution
If the your inventory is not listing because the online inventory system has not had enough time to make your item available, wait 24 hours. If after 24 hours your inventory item is still not listing, contact us. Provide the merchant SKU, ASIN, the product name and the date submitted.
If one or more product characteristics have changed, the relationship of the listing will be broken from the ASIN. This causes the item to associate with a different inventory item. The most common changes are the condition of the listing and the ASIN.
Solution
If your item is not listing because the listing’s relationship has changed, you can reset the item’s characteristics by following these steps:
- Locate the item in the All Inventory View.
- Click “Edit” in the far right column.
- On the lower, right side of the Edit your product information page click the “Edit this product” button.
- Review the product information and correct any details that might have changed.
- Click the “Save & Continue” button.
- On the Edit your product information page click the “Continue” button.
- On the Review and sell your product page click the “Submit your listing” button.
If after sending in your inventory, you convert your listing to merchant fulfilled, the inventory you have in our fulfillment center will not be available for purchase on Amazon.co.jp.
Solution
If your inventory is not listing because you have converted Amazon-fulfilled inventory to merchant-fulfilled, you can make the inventory available by converting it back to Amazon-fulfilled inventory from either the Inventory Amazon Fulfills page or the All Inventory View:
From Inventory Amazon Fulfills From the All Inventory View
- Locate the inventory and check the box under the Select column.
- From the Apply to Selected pull-down menu, select "Send/Replenish Inventory."
- Click "Go."
- Locate the inventory in the All Inventory View and check the box under the Select column.
- From the Apply to Selected pull-down menu, select "Convert to Fulfilled by Amazon."
- Click "Go."
Allow 24 hours for the online inventory system to make your item available on Amazon.co.jp.
You can only have one active inventory item for each listing (identified by a merchant SKU); otherwise the Amazon.co.jp fulfillment systems would be unable to determine which inventory item to ship for your listing.
When you create a new listing it will contain the following type of information:
Item SKU
ASIN
Condition
FNSKU Quantity
My Book
SKU-100
0123456789
New
FNSKU-100A 1
Example 1: Assume you already sent one unit of "My Book" to Amazon. If you use the same SKU to list a different product, you could end up with these conditions:
Item SKU
ASIN
Condition
FNSKU
Quantity
My Book
--
9876543210
New
FNSKU-100A
1
Their Book
SKU-100
9876543210
New
FNSKU-100B
0
The original item is no longer listed on Amazon.co.jp because the ASIN, Condition and FNSKU have been replaced. Customers won't see the one unit of "My Book" on Amazon.co.jp, Amazon's fulfillment center won't be able to fulfill orders for it, and you won't be able to replenish the inventory.
Example 2: Assume you already sent one unit of "My Book new" to Amazon. If you use the same SKU for the same ASIN, but change the condition of the item, you could end up with these conditions:
Item SKU
ASIN
Condition
FNSKU
Quantity
My Book new
--
0123456789
New
FNSKU-100C
1
My Book used
SKU-100
0123456789
Used
FNSKU-100D
0
Since the condition has changed, the original listing is no longer active. Customers won't see the one unit of "My Book" on Amazon.co.jp, Amazon's fulfillment center won't be able to fulfill orders for it, and you won't be able to replenish the inventory.
Solutions
You have two options to correct this issue.
- You can create a new listing with an unused SKU for the item with this error. The original SKU will remain in your Inventory Amazon Fulfills view, but it won't be active. You will be able sell the new SKU on Amazon.co.jp and send inventory to our fulfillment centers. If you choose this option, request a removal of the inventory that has the FNSKU corresponding to the old listing or request that the items be relabeled with the FNSKU of the new listing.
- The second option is to remove the second, new listing, and then Add a Product with the original characteristics (SKU, ASIN and Condition). In this case the second listing will no longer be listed on Amazon.co.jp for fulfillment.
Without an inventory listing, your item cannot be seen or purchased on Amazon.co.jp. There are several different issues that can stop your inventory item from listing.
Amazon reviews items in the catalog to make sure they are current. In some cases, items are removed from the catalog because of product recalls, legal issues, or website deprecation. If your item listing was removed for any of these reasons, your inventory will no longer be available for purchase on Amazon.co.jp.
Solution
Search Amazon.co.jp for the item to determine if it is still listed. If you cannot find the product listed under a different ASIN and you think the product should not have been removed, contact us for an explanation of why the product was removed.
If Amazon discovers that two separate detail pages (ASINs) are for the same product, we will merge the products under one item listing. This will remove one item and move all existing merchant listings to the other product listing. If you have inventory in our fulfillment center listed under the item that was removed, it will no longer be available for purchase on Amazon.co.jp.
Solution
If you think item might be associated with a product merge, search Amazon.co.jp for the item. If you are able to locate the item under a different ASIN, contact us and request to have the item be relabeled with the active ASIN.
